At Gurukulam, our educational philosophy emphasizes a balanced approach to learning, integrating games, sports, excursions, various co-curricular activities, and a strong sense of nationalism. We encourage parents to actively support the school's efforts in these areas.

Responsibilities:

1. Parental Obligations: Parents are expected to indemnify the institution against claims arising from illness or accidents.
2. Fee Payment: Late payment of the Quarterly Fee will occur fines of Rs. 100/- for the 1st week and Rs. 200/- for subsequent weeks.
3. Fee Default: Students with two quarters of overdue fees will be removed from the school register. Outstanding fee holders are not eligible for test/final examinations.
4. Interest on Caution Money: No interest is payable on caution money.
5. Attendance and Absences: Repeated unexcused absences will result in removal from school campus.
Readmission is subject to the Principal’s discretion and payment of a fresh admission fee. Transfer certificates will not be issued until all school dues are settled. Students are required to maintain a minimum 75% attendance for eligibility in final examinations.

Health and Leave:

1. Leave Protocol: Written permission for leave is mandatory before absence and is limited to 2 consecutive working days.
2. Sickness Protocol: Sick students must not attend school and require a doctor's certificate for rejoining after an illness. Those with communicable diseases must follow the advised quarantine period.

Procedures and Protocol:

1. Test Days: No half-day leaves during weekly test days except in emergencies with proper permissions.
2. Reporting Absences: Guardians must inform the Class Teacher regarding previous absences. Students must compensate for missed work due to absenteeism.
3. Re-test: No re-test will be conducted for missed test.

Miscellaneous Guidelines:

1. Punctuality: Timely arrival at school is mandatory; latecomers face disciplinary action.
2. Student Essentials: Students must carry their almanac and ID card daily, ensuring the document is signed by parents and contains complete identity information. Lost ID cards must be reported immediately for security reasons.
3. Communication: Change of address or phone number must be communicated immediately.
4. Belongings: Students are accountable for their belongings and should avoid bringing expensive items to school.
5. Parent-School Interaction: Parents' meetings with the Principal/Headmistress are by prior appointment. P.T.A. attendance is mandatory, and punctuality and a respectable code of conduct are expected.
6. Report Cards: Report Cards must be signed by parents within three days and returned to class teachers.
7. Fairness in Academics: Zero tolerance for using unfair means in tests/events. 8. Holistic Development: Encouragement of academic and co-curricular participation for holistic development.

Behavior and Discipline:

1. Respectful Behavior: Respectful and compassionate behavior towards teachers and staff is mandatory.
2. Respect for Property: Respect for school property and others' belongings is crucial.
3. Prohibited Practices: Prohibited practices include damaging school property, disruptive behavior, and eve-teasing. Indulgence in acts against school guidelines will result in penalties. The school rules and regulations are subject to change without prior notice. All decisions by the Principal are final and binding.
